FREE AIM accredited NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 course in coordinating peer-support meetings.

The training is highly regarded (the course is worth £1,800). It is a valuable starting point for people who want to move into mental health work as a career.

17 weeks' experiential training with a requirement to attend 30 peer-support meetings (which can include 10 meetings you’ve attended already and Watch Peer Training courses)

We will encourage people with lived experience of mental health challenges to become coordinators.

Existing beneficiaries of Changes peer-support meetings who would like to train as volunteer coordinators are particularly welcome.

Approximately six-month commitment to complete the training.

Learning. Thorough understanding: peer support; supporting and managing a group; the Recovery model of mental health and wellbeing; assertiveness; motivation; interpersonal skills; mental health difficulties and treatments.

The course will provide you with the skills to co-facilitate a Changes peer-support meeting.

Peer-support meetings are powerful and effective in helping people to manage their mental health and wellbeing and move forward with their lives. By training as a volunteer coordinator you will learn about yourself, others and how to support people to make the Changes they need to live a better life.

Changes is supporting people at venues in Yeovil, Chard, Wincanton, Shepton Mallet and Merriott.
