Social groups
The Balsam Centre is here for the whole community, and aims to provide a wide range of activities and social groups for all ages. We know that loneliness isn't good for our mental health, and being more active, through exercise and socialising with others, can have long-lasting beneficial effects. If you feel that you've been spending a bit too much time on your own recently, or maybe you're just looking for more opportunities to meet new people, come along to one of the social groups below.
The Chat Cafe
Every Monday, 10am - 1pm, at The Balsam Centre
Pop in to our friendly, volunteer-run cafe for a chat, drink, or a simple light lunch served at 12pm in return for a small donation.
A Health Coach from Wincanton Health Centre comes every week and can help with emotional and bereavement support, weight management, dealing with isolation and loneliness, pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes support.

Call us on 01963 31842 for more information. Newcomers always welcome.

Let's Yarn Together
Every Friday, 1pm - 3pm, at The Balsam Centre
Come along to our new weekly craft group and enjoy a relaxed space to chat, create and connect. Whether you love knitting, crochet, or any other woolly craft, bring your project - or just your curiosity! There’ll be opportunities to swap or sell wool, share patterns and ideas, or simply enjoy a friendly natter over a cuppa while you work. All skill levels are welcome, from absolute beginners to seasoned makers.

Suggested donation: £2 per session to cover room hire, tea and coffee.
