Sound Meditations
Tuesdays 7pm
April 28th, May 26th, June 23rd, July 28th
The world can sometimes feel overwhelming. Sound Meditations are a chance to soothe our nervous systems, relax and recalibrate.
The harmonics of healing instruments and the human voice help to loosen the grip of our busy minds and take us to a still place where our breathing becomes steady, our heart rate slows, and our whole system is able to reset. For a time we can put down what we have been carrying and emerge refreshed, often with a new perspective.
Healing Voice circles
Tuesdays 7pm
May 5th, June 2nd, July 7th
In the Healing Voice circles, you will be offered some vocal sound healing and sharing some simple breathing and vocal sounding practices for you to take away and try at home. This is not about ‘singing' but connecting with your natural voice and sound to retune yourself from the inside.
When we use our voices to hum and create pure vowel sounds, we begin to extend our outbreath and activate our vagus nerve which runs close to our vocal cords. This engages the parasympathetic branch of our nervous system, ushering us into calm, 'rest and digest' mode. Humming significantly increases the production of nitric oxide (NO) in our nasal cavity and sinuses which has been shown to dilate blood vessels, increasing circulation and boosting oxygen delivery.
Vocalising regularly for just a few minutes a day can help us to stay physically and emotionally regulated and increase our sense of wellbeing.
£10 per session. Reserve your place by emailing Claire at claire.haggard@icloud.com
