Fitness classes
Most of us know about the benefits of keeping fit, from keeping in shape, increased heart function and stamina, to the rewards of better mental agility. See below for details of the various classes we offer, which include some very gentle ones for beginners or those with limited mobility.

Tai Chi
Monday, 2pm - 3pm, and Friday, 1pm - 2pm
A low-impact exercise combining deep breathing and relaxation with slow and gentle movements. Tai Chi helps to reduce stress, improve balance and general mobility, and increase muscle strength in the legs

Tai Chi for people with Parkinson's
Monday, 12.30pm - 1.30pm
A Tai Chi class specifically for people with Parkinson's disease, to help with balance and muscle strength. This is a low-impact exercise combining deep breathing and relaxation with slow and gentle movements.

Zumba with Tamara
Mondays, 6.30pm
Wednesdays, 10am

Get ready to move and have fun! The Balsam Centre is now offering free Zumba classes with Tamara, mixing simple dance moves with great music to boost fitness, mood, and energy. It’s suitable for everyone, so come join the fun!

Pilates with Louise
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9.30am - 10.30am
Thursdays, 11am - 12pm
All classes are term time only
A Pilates class suitable for all fitness levels. Louise will provide modifications, adaptations and progressions suitable for all abilities.

Cost: £10 for a single class, or pay £40 for 5 classes.

Tai Chi with Natalie
Fridays, 2.30pm - 3.30pm

This Tai Chi class welcomes everyone, no matter your ability or experience. The gentle, flowing movements can be done standing or seated, helping you find calm, balance and relaxation.
