At Conkers, children's learning and development is supported through the Early Years Foundation Stage, or EYFS, which guides how we help children grow, learn and develop during their early years.
Supporting the learning journey
When children start at Conkers, we complete a baseline assessment during the first settling-in session. This helps us understand their current stage of development, interests and individual needs, so we can plan experiences that support each child's learning journey.
Planning and observation
Our team plans engaging activities using a monthly focus, while also taking into account each child's interests and curiosities. By following what children naturally enjoy and explore, we create meaningful learning experiences that keep them motivated and engaged.

Observations are uploaded onto our Famly app for families to view. We carefully observe and support every child's development, identify next steps in their learning and incorporate these into our monthly planning.
We aim to create a learning environment where children feel curious, capable and excited to explore the world around them.
