Settling-in sessions
We place great importance on helping children and families feel comfortable when joining Conkers.

Starting nursery is an exciting step, but we understand that it can also feel like a big change. Our settling-in sessions help children become familiar with their new environment in a gentle and supportive way.
​
During these sessions, children can explore the nursery, meet their key person and begin building relationships with staff and other children. Parents are welcome to stay for the first session so their child feels safe and supported, and so we can go through the induction pack together.
Home visits
We also offer an optional home visit, where your child's key person can visit you and your child in the familiarity of your own home to help with the settling-in process.

Communication with families
We believe strong communication with families is an important part of supporting every child's development. To help us stay connected with parents and carers, we use the Famly app.
​
The app allows us to share updates throughout the day, giving families a window into their child's experiences at nursery. Parents can see observations, photos, activities and important updates, helping them stay involved in their child's learning and development. We can also share information about daily routines, sleeps and nappy changes.

You can message the team directly through the app, making communication easy, convenient and secure.
​
Using the Famly app helps us to build strong partnerships with parents and ensures that families feel informed, reassured and connected to their child's day at Conkers.
