Wincanton Racecourse was buzzing with shoppers on Saturday 15 November as the annual Winter Fair enjoyed yet another record-breaking year, raising an incredible £33,876.40 in just five hours.
By mid-morning the excitement was already in full swing, with early birds queuing well before the doors opened at 10am. Shoppers poured in to enjoy an array of stalls brimming with beautifully presented treasures. The preloved clothing stand was a favourite as always, drawing vintage lovers in search of unique finds, while the trash and treasure stall offered something for every curious browser. The deli and plant stalls also proved hard to resist, tempting visitors with handmade treats and beautiful upcycled planters that reflect the Fair’s commitment to sustainability and repurposing.
The event’s success is a true reflection of what can be achieved when a community comes together. The Balsam Centre is deeply grateful to the many individuals and local businesses that generously donated items, and to the dedicated team of volunteers who spend months planning, collecting, curating and preparing to ensure The Winter Fair runs smoothly. Their enthusiasm and hard work shone through in every detail.
The Winter Fair remains the most important fundraiser in The Balsam Centre’s calendar, with all proceeds going directly toward supporting projects that make a difference to people’s lives in our community.
A huge thank-you to everyone who shopped, donated or volunteered - you made this year’s Winter Fair the best one yet. We can’t wait to welcome you back next year.
